PAMSA Members

PAMSA has been promoting the interests and efforts of the South African pulp and paper industry since 1992.  Any company involved in the manufacture of pulp, paper, board, tissue and recycled paper may become a member.

Corruseal Group

Corruseal, which has operations in four provinces, specialises in corrugated box packaging,. It acquired a paper recycling mill in Springs in 2015, while Enstra Paper manufactures recycled kraft paper for Corruseal’s corrugated box-making businesses and products like speciality papers and bag grades.

Kimberly-Clark South Africa

With a footprint in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Springs, Kimberly-Clark produces tissue paper, paper towel, diapers and sanitary pads.

Mondi South Africa

Through its two mills, Mondi South Africa produces pulp, packaging papers and uncoated fine paper, including office and professional printing paper. It converts packaging paper and other raw materials into corrugated solutions, flexible packaging products and speciality products for a wide range of consumer and industrial end-uses.

Mpact

Mpact is a paper and plastics packaging and recycling business with more than 44 operating sites. It is South Africa’s largest collector of recyclable packaging.

Neopak 

Neopak manufactures high-quality recycled containerboard and related paper products. Neopak’s recycling division is a major collector of recyclable paper products that are used as input material at its Rosslyn-based production facility.

Sappi Southern Africa

Sappi, which produces newsprint, graphic and packaging papers, is also the world’s largest manufacturer of dissolving pulp. It operates five mills with a combined annual production capacity of 93 000m3 of sawn timber, 690 000 tonnes of paper, 624 000 tonnes of paper pulp and more than a million tonnes of dissolving pulp.

PAMSA also oversees the Recycling Forum (formerly RecyclePaperZA) founded in 2003, which represents processors of recycled paper fibre.

The pulp and paper sector is part of a vibrant ecosystem of forestry and forest product related associations, both locally and abroad, as well as groups in the waste and recycling arena.

The producer responsibility organisation for the paper and paper packaging industries of South Africa which oversees the implementation of extended producer responsibility and related activities.

This is a voluntary industry body closely associated with the Institute of Packaging South Africa, and attracts major raw material suppliers, brand owners, retailers and other organisations with interests in the packaging industry as members.

The FSCC was established to support, monitor and facilitate the implementation of the Forest Sector Transformation Charter and ensure a transformed and sustainable forest sector that is fully compliant with the Forest Sector Code.

PAMSA is a member of the ICFPA which represents more than 30 national and regional forest and paper associations around the world. Together, ICFPA members represent more than 90% ofglobal paper production and half of global wood production.

A sector education and training authority that improves and develops skills within the sector, identifies skills development needs and ensures that national standards are maintained .The FP&M Seta looks after 13 sub-sectors, including clothing, textiles, footwear, general goods, leather, forestry, wood products, furniture, packaging, printing, print media, publishing and pulp and paper.
